Isoki Reversible Change Bags

October 31st, 2008

I’ve always hated nappy change bags. They’re bulky and unattractive, and I hate paying so much for something I know I’m not going to use again. This is why I’m so pleased to announce the arrival of the Isoki range of change bags and clutches. They are completely gorgeous, they’re reversible (which I love - it’s like getting two for the price of one!) and they are super useful.

Isoki change bags come with a removable storage satchel, a removable insulated cooler bag, and a padded change mat. When you’re done using them for baby, how about taking your Isoki bag to the beach or on a picnic? The padded change mat is perfect for sitting on damp ground, the storage satchel is perfect as a toiletries bag, or to keep sunscreen and insect repellent in, and the cooler bag is ideal for keeping fruit or and drinks cool.

However, I have to warn you - get in quick. We’re all fighting over them here in the office! They are the perfect weekend getaway bag, with or without a baby.

Isoki change bags come in a variety of fabulous patterns and colours, and you can also get a Petite Traveller Change Wallet or a Change Mat Clutch for those times when you don’t want to take a whole change bag.

Little Innoscents Organics

October 27th, 2008

Why choose organic?

Choosing organic products is not only environmentally friendly but also helps reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals, making your skin less susceptible to skin irritations such as eczema, dermatitis, redness, itchiness and other skin complaints often seen in early childhood.

Little Innoscents philosophy – “providing babycare with a conscience…”

The level of chemicals in products that pave our supermarket shelves is alarming.  Currently no regulatory body oversees what is produced for the Australian Baby Care Industry. - Little Innoscents is proactive in its support and assistance in establishing a body which regulates a set of standards within the industry.  Little Innoscents’ commitment begins with organic certification which provides authenticity.

How can you be sure you are buying organic?

Many companies rave about their products being entirely pure, natural and organic.  Read the labels closely as they often are misleading, including a combination of synthetic ingredients and preservatives within their formulations.

The making of certified organic products must meet stringent standards for the necessary approval – organic certification is the public’s assurance that products have been grown and handled according to strict procedures without persistent toxic chemical input.

You can be assured that when we say ‘organic’ we mean organic.  Little Innoscents’ total product range guarantees quality and authenticity, as certified by the ‘National Association of Sustainable Agriculture of Australia’ (NASSA) – one of the world’s leading accredited bodies regarding organic certification.

So next time you are out shopping for your Little Innoscent ones, search for the product range which holds the certified organic logo – guaranteed quality and authenticity every time.

This Week’s Specials: BabyBjörn

October 24th, 2008

This week we’re offering 10% off selected BabyBjörn products.

We use BabyBjörn products every day in our house. We’re toilet training at the moment, and Master Two is loving his BabyBjörn Potty Chair, as it’s so comfortable for him to sit on. He’s taken to bringing a book! And of course, the BabyBjörn Safe Step is essential for helping him to reach the sink to clean his teeth.

Why do we love BabyBjörn so much?

Fantastic design, super quality, and the fact that BabyBjörn only use materials that meet Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Class 1 eco-certification. This means no Bisphenol-A (BPA), no PVC and no phthalates near your little ones. No nasties, just brilliant products that you’ll use every day!

BabyBjörn are a family owned, Swedish company, and have been designing children’s products of outstanding quality, safety and style since 1961. Their goal has always been to simplify everyday activities for parents and small children by developing innovative products for children up to the age of three. BabyBjörn products are used worldwide by millions of parents, and all of them have the same goal: happy, safe children. The enthusiastic reception the products have received from these families inspires BabyBjörn in their efforts to develop safe and attractive, high quality products.

When BabyBjörn develop their products, they always try to be both creative and sensitive to children’s and parents’ needs. They aim to identify those little everyday problems and then to come up with ingenious solutions to them. Parents should feel confident in their choice of a functional product that is safe for their child. This is why BabyBjörn take responsibility for every step of the development process and have adopted a long-term approach towards constantly improving and renewing their product range.

This is why BabyBjörn have worked closely with pediatricians ever since the company was founded back in 1961. The valuable information and comments they provide are vital, both in connection with the development of new products and in the ongoing development of their existing ones. BabyBjörn’s co-operation with the medical profession began in Sweden, but now includes an international network of pediatricians in Germany, France, Sweden and the USA.

In Australia, all BabyBjörn baby carriers are endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives.

Changes to the Website

October 24th, 2008

As you may have noticed, we’re gradually making changes to the Nordic Nappies website. We’ve been adding lots of great new products, and we’ve still got plenty to come.

We’re also starting to make changes to the categories down the left side of our web pages. All nappies, cloth and disposable, as well as swim nappies and toilet training products have been grouped together under the general title of nappies and toilet training. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be pulling all our products into 12 main categories, with easily navigated drop down lists so that you can see exactly what has moved where. This will make the website much more easily navigable for you.

We’ll keep you updated and explain what’s in each category as we move them all online!

These changes are part of the fresh new face of Nordic Nappies. Since our inception in 2004, when we started out with Bambo Nature nappies, things have changed a lot. We’ve added lots of new products and services, and the name Nordic Nappies simply doesn’t reflect what we do now.

We’ll shortly be unveiling our brand new name, and a fresh new look to the website. The site will still be familiar, and of course, we’re always here if you need! Call us on 1300 725 876, email us at info@nordicnappies.com.au, and chat to us live with our live help service.

Kind + Jugend Fair

September 19th, 2008

Nordic Nappies has been travelling the world to find you new and innovative products! We’ve just returned from Cologne in Germany, where we’ve been attending the Kind + Jugend Fair. It’s a huge fair, dedicated to babies’ and children’s products.

There were so many fantastic products there, we hardly know where to start. We’re very excited about the new Baby Nova products that will be coming soon, including a polypropylene feeding bottle that many of our customers have been trying to find.

We found fabulous handmade soft toys and baby clothing, a brilliant take-anywhere highchair, wooden toys, gorgeous swimwear, sleeping bags and groovy clothing and lots of great BPA free, PVC free products for babies and children. All of these products will gradually appear on our website and in our store, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, below is a picture of one of our favourite finds! This is Mew the Cat, and we can’t wait to see him here at Nordic Nappies.

The Bottled Water Ban

September 12th, 2008

The Canadian city of London in Ontario has halted sales of bottled water at all municipal facilities. Local government are instead heralding the return of the drinking fountain, to quench the thirst of townspeople, saving money and the environment.

Similar bans are also being considered in Vancouver, Ottawa and Kitchener, amid a public backlash against the higher cost and environmental impact of bottled water. Bottled water is an unnecessary extravagance that produces 150 times more greenhouse gases to distribute than tap water.

Currently the demand for bottled water is growing by ten per cent annually, adding to the 118,000 tonnes of plastic drinking containers manufactured each year, of which Australian’s consume approximately 150 million liters of bottled water. From this just 35 per cent of bottles will be recycled, the rest will end up in landfill.

Quality drinking water is available straight from our taps, and at the cost of $1.20 a tonne, compared to $3000 a tonne for bottled drinking water. So ditch the water bottle and get reunited with your tap; at cafes and restaurants ask for tap water; take a bottle of water with you; and don’t be shy to use public drinking fountains.

Welcome to the Nordic Nappies Blog

September 3rd, 2008

Hello, and welcome to the inaugural Nordic Nappies blog. We thought we’d start our first blog by introducing you to the team here at Nordic Nappies.

First of all, we have Vanessa. Vanessa founded Nordic Nappies nearly four years ago now, in her spare room, juggling work around her first son, who was one. She now has two sons, and the youngest still comes to work a couple of days a week, but work is now in a large warehouse instead of the spare bedroom! Vanessa works all sorts of silly hours around her two sons, and still answers the phone and packs orders, in between keeping the website up to date and hunting for fabulous new products.

Claire has been with Nordic Nappies for three years, and is owner of the lovely English voice that you hear when you call us. Claire makes sure that all our retail side of things runs smoothly.

Lauren is the newest member of our team, and looks after our marketing and PR, as well as looking after our wholesale customers.

Ian is the token male in our office, and is our financial guru as well as the muscles when we need them.

Between us, we work really hard to make sure that our excellent customer service standards are always met and that we treat our customers the way that we want to be treated when we’re looking for advice and great products.

We’re always here to help, so please feel free to call us on 1300 725 876, email us at info@nordicnappies.com.au or chat to us using our Live Chat service, which you’ll find at the top of every page.
